Pictures At An Exhibition

Original multi-sensory performance of Mussorgky’s famous “Pictures At An Exhibition” arranged and performed by ITROS creator, Jeff Yang, for two players and eight instruments featuring Jeff Yang on violin, viola, cello, and four baroque recorders with piano.  Derived from Ravel’s orchestral arrangement of the piece, this version pairs music with original visual art and animation based on each movement of the music, paired to two unique scents by master perfumer Christophe Laudamiel, and pairings of food by unique local chefs and chocolatiers.

Elements

In The Realm Of Senses’s inaugural event featuring a unique experiential sensory exhibition of over 25 artists in 3500 square feet of art space in the Pilsen neighborhood of Chicago, curated by ITROS creator, Jeff Yang.  Musicians, visual artists, perfumers, chefs, bartenders, DJ’s, set designers, filmmakers, and poets created five unique sensory exhibitions based on the elements: air, earth, water, fire, and metal.  

Air: Experiential space with designed art installations, original film, a unique play of scents and colors, poetry, with explorations of light and shadows.

Earth: Sculptures and artwork paired with two original perfumes and food creations.

Water:  An experiential space with visual projections of water flowing through space paired to original music and cocktails by an award-winning bar.

Fire: Dining experience in the dark, with amazing textured food, chocolate with original live jazz, and unique perfumery.

Metal:  Live creation of graffiti art paired with a live performance of percussion and strings, DJ’s, art installations, and scent by a master perfumer.

Sensuous

A special Valentine’s show featuring a sensory fashion show of the clothes of 1950s and hats of iconic Chicago hat designer, Bes-Ben with 33 of his rare hats, paired to unique scent by master perfumer Christophe Laudamiel, and unique artworks based on Chicago architecture of Leonid Osseny, all at the historic Chopin Theater in Chicago.

Beethoven 250: Band of Bohemia

Celebration of Beethoven’s 250th birthday with an amazing pairing of Beethoven’s music to fabulous gastronomic creations.  Michelin-starred Band of Bohemia designed a six-course meal paired to Beethoven’s violin sonata “Kreutzer”, performed on period classical violin and fortepiano, and string quartet Op.59 No.2.  Six courses included mushroom/rice tea, chestnut and apples, lam hackpeter, carpaccio of medai, braised rabbit, wild boar racks/winter squash, and dessert.

Beethoven 250: Wine & Art

Virtual celebration of Beethoven’s 250th birthday at the Zhou B. Art Center in Chicago with an at-home pairing of pre-curated wines and food to the music of Beethoven, Dohnanyi, and Chevalier de St George, the black Mozart.  Experience the music of Beethoven’s string quartet Op.95 “Serioso” to a live painting of Beethoven by the amazing artist Sergio Gomez.

Experience 300 years of western music from Bach to the Beatles with unique duo arrangements for violin and cello, paired with original visual projections and perfume creations by master perfumers.
